Have you ever been up at night, when you are supposed to be fast asleep? I am sure you have had such nights. Yesterday was such a draining night, I just could not go to sleep. So stood in my terrace for a long time. It is so irritating when you see no one around, all the houses have lights switched off and everyone is in dreamland, and you seem to be the only person who cannot sleep. For some reason I was thinking of that Jennifer Anniston movie 'Dream for an Insomniac" and trying to remember what exactly happened in it.
At one point Anubha came to check me out, she was half sleepy, almost gave me a heart attack in the dark and babbled something about some crazy dream she is having and promptly went back to dreaming.
After sometime it started to rain, so had to go indoors. Finally I forced myself to doze off.
These kinds of insomniac attacks are especially irritating when you feel damn tired, has had a long day and the next day promises to be equally long and you know you need your sleep to maintain your sanity, yet sleep eludes you.
A couple of weeks back on a Saturday morning, both me and Anubha could not sleep. Of course we had maggie. Did I tell you that we never have maggie properly, like make two maggies and eat our bits seperately like adults? We always delude ourselves into believing that we would be satisfied with one maggie, hence make one, share it ravenously and then make the other one. This is one activity where we never learn from experience.
After our hunger pangs were under control, we sang songs, mostly Anubha sang and I listened and had totally inane conversation while Jayshree slept on. On such nights I do not mind being up, or when I am reading a really exciting book and need to finish it.
But on nights like yesterday it is really bugging and as a result today I am feeling totally drained and tired and dont want to work.
teeheee!! pliss read my post on monkey mayhaem today!!
